Epic Summer Adventure: Arches National Park

We camped right next to the Colorado river when we visited Arches/Island in the Sky Canyonlands.

This was my favorite place that we camped.
The river was so high, several camping areas were closed below us.






Welcome to Arches. We spent a few hours in an afternoon and a day here!
June 15 & 16
On the afternoon of the 15th we did several of the small trails!
Balanced Rock
Balance Rock - Easy 0.3 miles


Double Arch
Double Arch Trail - easy 0.5 miles

Windows Loop - Easy 1 mile

Sand Dune Arch Trail - Easy (unless you count the sand, meh) 0.3 mile

Broken Arch Trail - easy 1.3 mile

Trail - moderate .4 mile

Day's end in Arches was 3.8 miles

June 16th we hiked the Devils Garden Primitive Trail and Delicate Arch!
This trail included several different arches to see!
Devils' Garden via Primitive Loop - Difficult terrain 7.2 miles walk through fins!

Can you see the small people?
Delicate Arch was a fun hike. You don't see the arch until you come around a rock and it is magnificent as it appears!

Delicate Arch Trail - Difficult 3 miles 480 foot elevation gain.

It was super windy as you can see by my hair! SUPER windy!

Total Arches Hike: 14 miles

14 miles per park seems to be about average. How funny :)
